![]() ![]() ![]() Of course I have tried resetting the PRAM/NVRAM holding the Option, Command, P, and R keys - like 20 times.I reinstalled the stock GT120 card which used to work with what I think is called a VGA adapter "thing".I had upgraded the firmware from 4,1 to 5,1 if this matters - but it had run fine for weeks with this upgrade. It stopped sending a video signal using the GTX 680 and the HDMI port. Here are the symptoms and what I have tried with this second Mac Pro: I had these units connected to an Acer S271HL monitor using the HDMI port/cable. It ran fine for about two weeks, then became sluggish, would not respond (once - right before all of this) when I hit "restart", and finally stopped producing video output. I performed the identical upgrades as described above (add a GTX 680 graphics card, if the model matters). This is the description from Ebay: Apple Mac Pro A1289 2009 - Xeon W3520 2.67GHz Recently I found another one on Ebay although it's processor was a 2.67 versus the 3.x (?) that is in the first one I bought. I presumed it would be worthless to surf the net but found the OCLP and tested every OS after El Capitan up to Sonoma beta - and thing works great (updated the firmware, added and flashed a video card, bumped the RAM to 32 gig, etc.). I got it, had a stroke, and it sat in a corner for 4 years. About 4 years ago I bought an early 2009 Mac Pro to tinker. I hope I provide all the relevant info regarding my problem to make suggestions possible. I probably know less than anyone on this forum and only recently started fooling with Macs.and I'm 71, etc.
